Blue or Gray 03:35
She was hot as a pistol she lit up the place would call me a handsome devil but not to my face I was all open ears everytime she'd speak we used to leave notes I haven't seen one in weeks Cause there's a shakey side to this life you can try all you want to fight it, I won't try Cause blue or gray its the same sky Yes, there's a shakey side to this life A deck of cards, a shakey voice who among us loved by choice? and this bottle of bourbon is a barricade I was ramblin' more than usual my head spun more each day Saving grace or digging graves Cause there's a shakey side to this life you can try all you want to fight it, I won't try Cause blue or gray its the same sky Yes, there's a shakey side to this life And we wish away the days for the ones we won't get back there's a future for every heartbreak and an absent mind for the past Cause there's a shakey side to this life you can try all you want to fight it, I won't try Cause blue or gray its the same sky Yes, there's a shakey side to this life

Hesitate 03:32
Call on me even in the middle of the night even if you think I won't wake or our talk won't make anything right Call on me even if you think we've said it all before though our words won't change a thing I still wanna hear even more Because I don't hesitate too much now Let me be Let me be the constant you seek when the seconds go like days and the days they go like weeks Let me stand let me stand at the foot of your heart I will fight every highway to know your warmth before the dark Yes, i will know your warmth before the dark Because I don't hesitate too much now So figure out my worth and figure it out and hold onto the things that you can't live without and call me on the phone and say you never meant a word cause in my heart I know its true everything I heard Because I don't hesitate too much now

I'm seeing all the shine on every left hand not that it matters much at all I keep to myself in the daytime I'm always dizzy when i call and like a river I wanna see those dresses flow and sense that hint of hope behind your eyes walking away is what I'm used to even though it don't feel right And sometimes you look right through me but then again don't they all? Yes, You're a Midnight Beauty But then again, Aren't we all? And I'm only going places that I'm used to It's comforting when every night's the same It seems like seasons and haircuts are the only things that change And I found someone that i can care for Someone who will also care for me You find it, You lose it You're back to the fading of a dream And sometimes you look right through me but then again don't they all? Yes, You're a Midnight Beauty But then again, aren't we all?

Watching the sunset alone you know it just isn't the same call me on your break to see if I'm ok And come back to me When you are in your favorite dress lose yourself in me keep your head on my chest And little reminders of you in the pocket of my jeans your hair on the pillow the vinyl still out of the sleeves little reminders of you I hope they are here to stay I see your blue eyes in every reminder today The music was loud but i whispered something just for you when you smiled I knew that you had felt it too I helped you finish your last drink so we could get going on I reached for your hand and kissed your collarbone And little reminders of you in the pocket of my jeans your hair on the pillow the vinyl still out of the sleeves little reminders of you I hope they are here to stay I see your blue eyes in every reminder today I heard so many times that this sort of thing had long been dead come on little bird sing keep your song in my head and let your reservations and hesitation just fade away oh don't be afraid and I won't be afraid and little reminders of you in the pocket of my jeans your hair on the pillow the vinyl still out of the sleeves and little reminders of you I hope they are here to stay I see your blue eyes in every reminder today I see your blue eyes in every reminder today

Tobacco Town 03:21
Crushed cans and wristbands worn out ink on stamped hands long talks and dark walks the streetlight on its last leg you shivered and I tried to beg you to take my jacket off and put it on yourself Fireworks and corks flew but now their on the ground its not til' the next morning when our true colors are found the work that went into these floors they're muddy, scuffed and marked you took from me old t-shirts but me I stole your heart and the riff raffs by the smoke stacks will stomp them when their through and sing a raspy ballad of tobacco town for you cursing every stoplight the sunbeam in your eyes you got there just in time to see me pulling from the drive my phone wasn't dead but I lied and said it was it's easier than having to explain a halfway love and the branches became lonesome as the blackbirds flew the feathers fell down on this Tobacco Town for you you hummed along to the radio the song it crackled through I never heard you sing too much so I turned and smiled at you but by then I was somewhere between loving you and leaving you two and a half years you won't get back I'm sorry for that and one day when we're older and i know you're feeling blue I'll dust off the melody of Tobacco Town for you I learned your favorite flower and always held the door but when I said I loved you I looked down towards the floor

Blindfolded, I'm acting out of instinct this time fall apart but never fall behind and hurry up hurry up make up your mind we draw the lines just to cross the lines and go on, go on, go on just miss me when you're gone and I'll be here bundled up and waiting on the sun be gone, be gone, be gone the past is just a smoking gun and there's some love that just won't be undone am I meant to love anyone? am I meant to love anyone? the truth it fell, piano off a skyscraper the flowers wilt to the sound of a graveyard whisper so tell me now, tell me what do you believe? do you believe in me? do you believe in anything? and go on, go on, go on just miss me when you're gone and I'll be here bundled up and waiting on the sun be gone, be gone, be gone the past is just a smoking gun and there's some love that just won't be undone am I meant to love anyone? am I meant to love anyone?

Cicadas sing the sadness sunlight stirs the silhouettes i sit in the shadows but still I see your light Hydrangeas hold the heartache and bloom blue with every mistake you sleep and I lay awake I wouldn't dare kill your dreams oh i shake and i shiver and i shiver and shake think about my heart and the ones I break I don't know now which one is worse the guilty mind or the stolen purse tablecloth is full of stains muddy dog on a twisted chain rusty gutters from April's rain Honey say something sweet the streams rose with sympathy she hummed her tired symphony you don't have the time for me and It makes me want you more oh i shake and i shiver and i shiver and shake think about my heart and the ones I break I don't know now which one is worse the guilty mind or the stolen purse

Anne Marie 03:30
Anne Marie I'd like to bring you up to speed on all the things I've seen you know since we've not been speaking Half the time I'm half awake the weathers fine and I think you'd like the company that I've been keeping Anne Marie, Anne Marie All the sugar second to the sting and I hate to say I told you so but I told you so Didn't I Honey, Honey, Honey I know these floods will drown us I'm feeling washed away what brought us here together won't make me stay Cause half the time I drag the lake I find the things I wanna change but anne, why can't I change myself? Anne Marie, Anne Marie all the sugar second to the sting and I hate to say I told you so but I told you so didn't I honey, honey, honey

Miles Away 03:16
I wish my heart was more than half broken maybe then I'd start to see that i shouldn't have spoken I should have let you leave and let the night time have you and the red moon light your way when everything said it let it go I was too stubborn and stayed I wish my heart was more than half broken maybe then I'd know what to do I wish my heart was more than half broken I'd be miles away from you For everytime you held my hand I sat and watched you leave for every useless door that slammed I had you next to me for everytime I was full of doubt there was nothing to decide for everytime the flowers bloomed the flowers surely died I wish my heart was more than half broken maybe then I'd know what to do I wish my heart was more than half broken I'd be miles away from you and the tail lights fading into the darkest of winter nights If somethings not gone completely wrong It's hard to make that something right so tell me now what exactly is there left to hold onto I was more worried about being along than I was about losing you I wish my heart was more than half broken maybe then I'd know what to do I wish my heart was more than half broken I'd be miles away from you

Well the blinds are closed on a room of blue the minute hand struck twenty two silent and somber as a hurse you reached for the door I closed it first and promises are just a drone recycled every motive every line I leaned against the left arm of the sofa convinced myself I wasn't wasting time and you leaned on the right and we said it, we said it, we said it you meant it, you meant it, I didn't and now my phone only rings when you need something my phone doesn't ring much at all and your eyeliner has made us late we'll sneak in so we don't have to explain reckless motorcycle on the freeway weaving in and out of love and hate in the sideways rain and we said it, we said it, we said it you meant it, you meant it, I didn't and now my phone only rings when you need something my phone doesn't ring much at all
